GENERAL The School Website will be regularly updated with current information and Local Radio Stations will make an announcement that Downlands is closed. The message on the school telephone will also reflect the fact that the school is closed. CLOSURE DURING A SCHOOL DAY Parents who have supplied mobile and e.mail contacts will receive a communication as soon as a decision has been made to close the School. Please do not reply to the text. Any pupil unable to get home safely will be supervised in school until parents can make arrangements for their safe return. Results 2011 - 2012 We are proud to announce our best ever results: 85% of pupils achieved 5 A-C grades at GCSE , 76%* of pupils achieved 5 GCSE grades at A-C including Mathematics and English and 99%* of pupils achieved passes in 5 or more GCSEs. A truly outstanding set of results, we are all delighted for our pupils who worked so hard over the past two years, and are very proud to know that pupils of all abilities achieved so well. We fully recognise the commitment of pupils and staff to ensure this outcome. Congratulations to everyone, pupils, parents and staff.
