What a scorcher!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather – the sun shone, people came and the fayre was a tremendous community event.  The students at Downlands made the Fayre a day to be remembered – with flash dance mobs, bands performing all afternoon as well as the joint forces of the formidable Windmills Junior School choir and the Downlands choir, Shakespeare ringing out at random intervals and our very own mini World Cup taking place on the ATP, it was action all afternoon.  The Burgess Hill runners annual fun run was, as always, very well attended and the runners whizzed rang the course despite the heat.  Having earned a well deserved rest, the runners and everyone else for that matter were able to relax, listen to the music, watch the dancing, nibble on a burger expertly cooked by the Science department, sip on a beer and finish with a nice home made cake!  It was a quintessential summer afternoon!

Ps: Thank you for all the kind donations from parents, families and local businesses – we couldn’t do it without you.

PPs: In case you wondered, Holland won our mini World Cup – shame they didn’t qualify for the real thing!
