Downlands Governing Board is made up of 15 governors
We also elect Associate Members when necessary. All governors are elected for a 4-year term of office.
Our Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually in the summer term.
The majority of governors’ work is done by various committees who have delegated powers and report back to all governors at the full business meetings. These committees co-opt other members of staff who have the relevant responsibilities within school.
Each governor (except staff governors and associate members) is also linked to a department and they liaise with the Head of Department regularly.
More information about the structure of the Governing Body Committees can be found here: Structure of the Downlands School Governing Board April 2018
Minutes of the full Governing Board meetings are available on request from the Clerk to the Governors c/o the School.
