Downlands Governing Body is made up of 15 governors
We also elect Associate Members when necessary. All governors are elected for a 4-year term of office.
Our Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually in the summer term.
The majority of governors’ work is done by various committees who have delegated powers and report back to all governors at the full business meetings. These committees co-opt other members of staff who have the relevant responsibilities within school.
Downlands Governing Body has 3 committees:
Finance and Buildings; Pupil Outcomes and Wellbeing; Staffing. There are also Discipline and Complaints Committees which meet when necessary and is made up primarily of members of the Pupil Outcomes and Wellbeing Committee plus the Chair of Governors.
Minutes of the full Governing Body meetings are available on request from the Clerk to the Governors c/o the School.
