2017 Results

Students at Downlands School, in Hassocks, have achieved some excellent GCSE results.  Some 82 per cent earned a standard pass – grade 4 – or better in English & maths, while 39 per cent of passes were at an A and above (grade 7 and above).  An impressive 36 students achieved grade 9, the highest possible grade in the new reformed GCSEs.

Mark Wignall (Headteacher) said “We are celebrating another set of outstanding GCSE results and I congratulate our students on achieving such incredible outcomes.  I would like to pay tribute to our amazing teaching staff for their exceptional professionalism and commitment during a time of unprecedented change in education.  We are also very grateful to our extremely supportive governors and parents without whom we could not deliver such great outcomes.”

Congratulations to our students, we wish them well as they move into the next phase of their education or training.
