Downlands is a kind and successful learning community which celebrates diversity.  As a West Sussex School we adhere to the Local Education Authority’s Admission Policy.  We welcome and encourage admissions applications from carers and families from diverse backgrounds.

All parents with pupils in Year 6 have received copies of this procedure. Copies may be obtained from:

How to Appeal

Transport
 
Free transport is provided by the authority to all pupils who live more than three miles from the school and live within the Downlands catchment area.
 
This area includes Albourne, Poynings, Fulking, Sayers Common, Pyecombe, Hurstpierpoint, Hassocks, Keymer, and Ditchling. Parents are advised to check with the Education Office at West Sussex County Council if they are in any doubt.
 
Many other pupils travel to the school from both East and West Sussex and Brighton and Hove. School times are arranged to fit into the normal coach and train timetables.
