Downlands is situated in an enviable location on the fringe of the new South Downs National Park. Our extensive grounds and playing fields have uninterrupted views to the famous Ditchling Beacon and Jack and Jill Windmills.

The school has very impressive Community Sports facilities. These include a state of the art sports hall with an air-conditioned fitness suite, dance studio, a third generation floodlit astroturf football pitch and a gymnasium. Pupils can become members of the community fitness suite at the age of 14.

The recently extended canteen gives a wonderful environment for pupils to enjoy a leisurely lunch with friends to meet, chat and catch up on the morning activities. It also acts as a flexible space for other whole school events including the annual GCSE Fine Art/Textiles and Technology exhibition which showcases the GCSE work of the Year 11 pupils. It has become the heart of the school; a space where everyone can congregate on a daily basis.

We are delighted to add the Hassocks Outdoor Performance Space to the available venues at Downlands.

P.E facilities- Gym, Sports Hall, Astro, Dance Studio, Fitness Suite, GCSE classroom, hard court area for netball and tennis, extensive fields. Local facilities are also used.
